Austin is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around Austin is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I understand Austin doesn’t have a pastry shop culture but seeing that Violette had an almost perfect score and had reviews with photos of beautiful pastries I had high hopes and was excited to visit this spot. Unfortunately the reality of this spot is extremely disappointing. It is literally the opposite of what you would find if you walked into a pastry shop in Paris, France. The pastry was served in a cheap plastic plate with no utensils or napkins. Cheap plastic cutlery individually wrapped in plastic can be found by the door. Our espresso shots were served in the bottom of 12 oz paper cups and were made by an automatic machine instead of a barista. No milk was available just individual creamer containers. The gluten free opera cake was really good, but the poor ambience and cheap presentation really ruins the experience. I really wish this spot would make an effort to decorate and make it feel like a cute pastry shop in Paris.

Nice and organized bakery, been around since 2024, tucked away next to a sandwich shop, everything's very cute, some of the items looked too pretty to eat. I need to come back and try the mango 🥭 🍋🟩 dessert. My friend got me the bunny, it was decent. Lots of options and the staff was very friendly. Lots of tables and spaces inside too, will be back in the future

Bonjour ! Five stars for Violette Bakehouse! This place is incredibly welcoming, with a truly cozy atmosphere. The French music playing in the background was also a nice touch. I had a délicieux café latte and a fantastic quiche. But the real star was the croissant—so buttery and flaky. Honestly, it is the most delicious croissant I’ve had, and I have actually been to Paris! The vitrine (the display of pâtisseries) was absolutely beautiful. I even had a small sample that was wonderful, and I already can’t wait to come back for the macarons and the Opéra cake. A special thanks to Annelise, who was so friendly and made it such a great experience. Merci beaucoup for the wonderful service! C’est un régal !

Fantastic, authentic French patisserie. Definitely my best pick in Austin!! Beautiful cakes— incredible piece of art and enjoyable. Taste great and reasonably priced, too. My favorite is Opera (gluten free). I also love their mousses. I wish this patisserie is located in more walkable neighborhoods like downtown or Mueller. You can order online for pick up as well.

Wow so delicious omg! I had a pistachio dessert and I can't stop wishing I had more. The chocolate orange mousse dessert was divine and the chocolate rabbit was so cute I had to get it. I will be back with my gaggle of friends to try more!
